Consideration or Application?

By Pastor Pat Giraldin |  April 5, 2018

When I read my bible, I I desire to find a truth that was given all those years ago that has application for my life today. That is the easy part. What I used to do though was consider if that truth could or would “work” in the context of my life today.

That being said, when you read or hear about a biblical truth presented to you, do you start your process of consideration (Should I follow this?), or your process of application (How do I apply this?)? What I have discovered and put into practice is that God’s Word is not for consideration at all, it is only for our application as part of God’s plan.

God’s Word has a purpose for His plan...
“so my word that comes from my mouth will not return to me empty, but it will accomplish what I please and will prosper in what I send it to do.”” Isaiah 55:11 CSB

God’s plan is bigger than anything we even imagine...
“But as it is written, what no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no human heart has conceived — God has prepared these things for those who love him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9 CSB

Whether or not to consider applying the truth of God’s Word is not the question. Looking for how is. Sound too simple?

When you get to that place and discover that God’s truth is for application only and not for consideration you will get it. Get it?!

In His grip,
Pastor Pat
