I have had the wonderful experience of things in our house and that we have purchased not living up to our expectations. Things break or fail to work, and that is part of life. But what happens when something breaks, and you then discover it was under a warranty? AWESOMENESS, right? How awful is it to have something break, and then it becomes awesome when the product is covered by a warranty! Wouldn't it be great if our "lives" had a warranty? They do...
A warranty is only as good as the manufacturer who is standing behind it. Our 15 year old window, as well as one of our faucets broke, so I called the companies to buy new parts. They surprised me when they both (separately) told me their products have a life-time warranties!!! How cool is that? So for as long as I own them they are covered - which means when I expire so does that warranty. Wanna know something cool? Our Creator offers a warranty as well:
“And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”” Revelation 21:5 ESV
One day God will make all things new, and we will be complete in His presence. But wait, there's more (I love that part of the info-mercials, always makes me smile): we don't have to wait to die to experience this. We can be made new as soon as we recognize we are broken, and that only God can fix the problem we have. Just like a manufacturer who stands behind their product, God stands behind us. And just like the manufacturer, we have to call and ask for the repair of their product to be made - that's the catch; we must confess we are His in order to redeem the "warranty" He offers...
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” 2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV
Want new...go ahead and ask! I dare you...So get it?!
In His grip,
